The Organization for Promotion of Health & Community Development (OPHCD) is a GRC local partner in Afghanistan which is a non-government, non-profit, non-political, impartial, and independent organization registered with the Ministry of Economy of the Government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan with license No 4160, and the Ministry of Public Health of the Government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan with the registration No 600. The organization was established to serve the community and advocate for better coordinating and directing of the available resources and activities for provision of quality services to the communities with an equitable manner. OPHCD, as a non-governmental organization committed for a joint mission with having dedicated and expert staff in public health, Water Sanitation and Hygiene, Education, Community development and women empowerment for contributing to making an empowered society with sustainable and self-reliance health, social and economic stability at the community level. Currently, the organization is implementing several projects in Afghanistan in Community-based primary education , emergency Nutrition, community Midwifery education (CME), and prevention of blindness programs in coordination with Ministry of Public Health and Ministry of Education of Afghanistan and international funding agencies, Considering OPHCD experience in implementation of humanitarian projects and working with the multiple donors as well as the Government institutions, RR Development Consulting and the GRC Canada governance and the board of directors unanimously decided to establish a humanitarian and development partnership with OPHCD with signing of an agreed Memorandum of Understanding with RRDC/ GRC Canada. OPHCD has been appointed as mentors and implementing partners of RRDC/ GRC project interventions in Afghanistan providing all necessary technical support to deliver the services to the communities.
